On the occasion of this year’s Eurovision Song Contest final on 10 May in Copenhagen the German broadcaster NDR invited for the ESC party in Hamburg. It was also from there that the shows “Eurovision Song Contest 2014 – Countdown für Kopenhagen” and “Grand Prix Party” were broadcast live on “Das Erste” before and after the ESC final. The NDR used the ISOSTEM upmix system in this production for the first time.

In addition to the song contest, the ESC party programme included an extensive musical on-stage extravaganza. The upmix unit was used for live music, full playback and MAZ. ISOSTEM is an upmix system that generates fully adequate surround sound from stereo signals in real-time and the original stereo signal in the downmix.
