Popular shopping center in Berlin equipped with HARVEY mx.16

The Bikini-Haus is a landmarked office building from the 50ies in Berlin‘s City West which has been transformed into a shopping mall with various eateries and alternating events. The audio and media control matrix HARVEY mx.16 from DSPECIALISTS provides the excellent sound there for the permanently available PA system with a DJ position. This project was carried out by the Berlin office of Salzbrenner Stagetec Audio Video Mediensysteme in cooperation with DSPECIALISTS and L’Acoustics.

The job of HARVEY mx.16 in this project is to switch between two PA situations whose configurations are saved as presets in HARVEY. In addition to HARVEY mx.16, the installation comprises several amplifiers from L’Acoustics, which are controlled by HARVEY via SNMP as well as several loudspeakers. The whole setup can be controlled by a special HARVEY-App via an iPad or a keypad. This allows for direction-related event sound reinforcement by four L’Acoustics Line Arrays ARCS and four 12XTI Delay Lines. In addition, two Sennheiser LSP500 PRO wireless monitor speakers are also integrated.

“I was very impressed by HARVEY mx.16, especially its various control options. This means that the matrix can be used in all kinds of projects, no matter what the size of the project or the application”, explains Jochen Schulz, project manager responsible at Salzbrenner Stagetec Audio Video Mediensysteme GmbH. This system provider designs and produces professional intercom technology as well as developing, planning and implementing turnkey audio and video installations.
